On March 22, 1933—one day before the German Reichstag passed the Enabling Act (Ermächtigungsgesetz)—the leading associations of German physicians sent a letter of allegiance to Adolf Hitler in a show of premature obedience. This was followed by work restrictions, exclusion, expulsion, revocation of licenses, and the extermination of Jewish and politically persecuted doctors. During the tour of Augsburg's city center, we will examine the fate of some of these doctors, as well as their pioneering medical achievements. In cooperation with: Augsburg Medical Association, Jewish Museum Augsburg, Institute for Ethics and History of Health in Society (Faculty of Medicine, University of Augsburg), ErinnerungsWerkstatt Augsburg e.V. meeting point: Tourist-Information Rathausplatz
